Today, the National Board Of Review named The Post the best film of 2017. Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep were also awarded best actor and actress by the organization. Could this possibly lead to an Oscar Nomination? The NBR isn’t alone in its praise of The Post. The Post opens on December 15, but those lucky enough to have watched the film early are pretty excited about what they saw.
Early Reactions Below:
We can talk about THE POST? Let's talk about THE POST. It's excellent. A rousing crowdpleaser about the freedom of the press? Sold. I loved it. Spielberg's best film since Munich.

The Post is an important film, not just to history, but to the now. Streep is amazing. My audience broke into applause at least 6 times during the movie itself. Spielberg’s best film since Munich.

The Post is exactly what you're expecting: mature, rousing, resonant newsroom procedural with proper Spielbergian swell. Smashing, nuanced (!) Streep, bristlingly adorable Hanks.

Steven Spielberg’s The Post is a major Oscar contender, sure to be nominated across the board. Meryl Streep finds yet another gear. She is the greatest actress in Hollywood history.
