“I grew up and I don’t know how many times I watched Indiana Jones,” actress Alicia Vikander said this to IGN tonight before introducing a trailer for Tomb Raider.
Warner Bros. has just released the first trailer for Tomb Raider. Alicia Vikander takes over for Angelina Jolie as the newest Lara Croft.
For me, the film trailer reminds a lot of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The father element, the booby traps in the cave, the ship in danger at sea, the numerous set pieces—it all feels very Last Crusade. If Steven Spielberg can’t find time in his schedule for another Indy adventure, maybe the rebooted Tomb Raider series can fill that void?
Watch the trailer below and see if you also get any Indiana Jones vibes. Tomb Raider opens March 2018.
